What it is

One session to hear your idea the way your buyer will.

Storymining is a working session for an executive about to introduce something important: a pitch, a new product, an initiative. You pitch it to me as if I’m the buyer. I’ll listen the way they will, react as several of them, and show you where the idea lands, where it drifts, and what to say instead. Breakthroughs usually happen in one session. You leave with sharper language, often a new story arc, and higher confidence about winning a sale, getting funding or support. Come fuzzy. Leave clear.

Who it’s for

For the executive with something important to introduce.

Executives looking for a sale, funding, or support for an important concept. You know the idea is good; you want everyone else to know it too.

It’s built for companies: a founder courting a client, a division head launching a service, a leadership team taking a plan to the board. It runs over a call, from anywhere.

How it works

Three parts, usually done in one session.

Say it.

Before we begin, we decide if you want to present straight through, start to finish, or if you prefer me to interrupt you as I notice things. Either way works. Your job is to tell your story straight, treating me as the person who needs to hear your message.

Hear it.

You will learn how others receive your message, how they think and feel about it, and about you. This is the invisible part, the part that’s so hard to solve for yourself. I listen intently to everything you say as several different listeners at the same time:

  • a customer
  • a board member
  • a partner
  • the skeptic in the third row of your presentation.

You’ll learn what’s working, what’s off, what to say instead, and why each detail matters. Beyond insights, you get coaching, practice, and confidence.

Experience it.

You’ll hear what you sound like, see what you look like, maybe even embrace a new story arc. You’ll feel different. When you say different words, you’ll stand straighter. Before we close, I’ll help you put words to what you’re feeling while everything is fresh. That’s an emotion I want you to linger on and recall whenever you need it.

What I look for

About twenty things, all checked at once.

When I experience your story the way you share it, I’m checking about twenty things at once: the structure, the logic, the wording, the brand, the feeling it leaves, whether the slide and the sentence agree, how much you’re asking a listener to hold, how close you feel to them (your narrative distance). That’s why the feedback is fast and specific at the same time: 30 years of knowing what to look for.

Ten of the things I look for

  • Structure. Does the order make listening easier, or make them work?
  • Logic. Does each step follow? Is there a claim with no proof behind it?
  • Wording. How exact the words are, and any times they stop understanding.
  • Brand. Does it sound like you, and like your company?
  • Feeling. What a listener feels at each point, not only what they hear.
  • Picture congruence. Do the ideas, pictures, and story support each other?
  • Cognitive load. How much you’re asking someone to manage in their brain.
  • Narrative distance. How close your language ‘feels’ to someone.
  • The experience. What you’re building in their mind, scene by scene.
  • The epiphany. Set them up to make their own discovery, and time to decide what’s right.
What you leave with

What to say, why it works, and what to practice.

Three things in writing: what to say, why it works, and what to practice. Greater confidence, AI learning, and a follow-up half-hour call to discuss your pitch once it’s done.

You’ll also get the recording, the transcript with my notes on the phrases that matter, the AI prompts I used, first drafts of your new lines, and a private online space where the work keeps going after the call.

The call after

Saying it out loud helps make it a forever skill.

Once you present, I want to talk with you to see how it went, hear how you felt, and learn about the reactions you got. It’s an important call: talking it through with someone who cares is what makes it stick.

Since 2002

Done since 2002. Today, with AI tools supporting you.

Storyminers has done this since 2002. At first for individuals with one message to get right. Then for small, medium, and large companies with a pitch, a launch, or a strategic plan on the line. Today it runs with AI tools supporting you pre-, during-, and post-sessions. At Storyminers, AI doesn’t write or decide. Humans do. AI only organizes, arranges, remembers, and drafts.

The next step

Book a conversation.

We’ll talk about what you’re about to say and whether one session is the right size for it. No slides needed, and no sales pitch from me.
